Cleaning Business Insurance Checklist
Prepare an insurance conversation around the properties you clean, the tasks you perform and the access your team needs.
Online quotes depend on eligibility and underwriting.
Let’s talk insurance.
Describe each kind of cleaning job
- List the properties you clean and the specific tasks included in your service.
- Separate routine work from occasional floor care, high-access work or other specialist tasks.
- Describe the equipment and products used, plus anything you store at a customer’s property.
Gather client and team details
- Note key or access arrangements and whether you work when the premises are unoccupied.
- Have client insurance requirements and certificate recipient details ready.
- List employee duties, payroll estimates and changes in your team.
- Describe travel between properties and who owns the vehicles used.
Questions to bring to the conversation
- How does the policy address damage to a customer’s property during the work?
- What should I ask about lost keys, access arrangements or allegations about missing property?
- Are the tasks listed in my service agreement reflected in the policy’s description of my business?
Keep this list with your business records and update it when your work changes. Your answers give the insurance conversation a concrete starting point; the checklist does not determine which policy you need.
