Insurance for Event Planners
Explore insurance for planning services, venue obligations and the events you help coordinate.
Online quotes depend on eligibility and underwriting.
Let’s talk insurance.
Planning advice is distinct from event operations
Explain whether you provide planning only, on-site coordination or additional services. A claim about a missed booking or professional error is different from an injury at an event. The contract should accurately describe your role, and the insurance discussion should do the same.
Read venue requirements early
Each venue may ask for different limits, insured parties or dates. Discuss special-event, liquor and cancellation questions where relevant without assuming they are part of a planner’s ordinary liability policy. Identify who provides food, equipment and other services.
Coverage to consider
Professional liability: Claims about advice, instruction or services need attention separate from ordinary premises liability. The profession and policy wording matter.
General liability: Customer injuries and damage to another person’s property raise liability questions. Review the covered operations, limits and exclusions.
Commercial auto: Business driving should reflect vehicle ownership, drivers and use. Do not assume a personal policy or premises policy addresses every business trip.

Coverage depends on the policy’s terms, limits and exclusions. An inquiry or online quote does not put coverage in force.
Common questions
Does planner liability automatically reimburse event cancellation?
No. Cancellation is a separate coverage question with its own conditions.
What if I coordinate an event but do not provide the food or venue?
Describe your role accurately and review the responsibilities in each contract.
Can the same insurance certificate be used for every venue?
Check each request; dates, limits and endorsement requirements may differ.
